About Kristjan
Kristjan is a streetphotographer hailing from Tallinn, Estonia. He discovered photography in 2017, but began making pictures on a more consistent basis in the beginning of 2019. He has a background in law.
His style can be best described by himself: “I love the streets, because it’s raw and chaotic. Since you’re essentially dealing with people, it can be unpredictable. As streetphotographers can tell, sometimes things happen so fast and you have to follow your instinct – there’s no time to think or analyze. Often there’s a tension between me and my subject while taking a photo without asking. Of course, it’s understandable, as I sometimes like to get quite close and this means stepping into their private space. My goal is definitely not to piss people off, make someone look bad or judge. Through my photos I try to show the reflection of the society in general. I’m interested in authenticity.”
Besides his day job and photographic endeavours, he likes to read books, travel and watch good movies. He is currently based in Luxembourg.
